I'm having a visitor!

I'm excited today because my cousin Phillip, who I haven't seen in three years or so since my grandfather's funeral, is coming to stay tonight.  He's on his way from North Carolina to the Rockies, and I happen to be smack on the way.  There are five of us grandchildren on my dad's side, and we're the two oldest, him two years older than me.  He does things like mountain climb in Alaska, and I've done things like travel around the country in my car for a year, but we've never really hung out much--should be fun!  :)

Packing and Acupuncture!

Hey all!  Phew, the Monday after Thanksgiving is a pretty busy day here at RocknRocks!  I'm packing all day, as we've got a lot of orders to get out for you all!  I didn't have access to our server for some reason this weekend, so I'm catching up on email as I go today--If you haven't heard back from me yet, you will soon!

Thanks to Kat and Steph for the Thanksgiving cards!   They were very nicely-done cards, and everybody was happy to read them.

Mom's still in China, and while she's there, she's been seeing a Chinese doctor for acupuncture.  She sent me this link about the treatment she's receiving.  I'm all about acupuncture, though I've never actually had it myself, but that just looks... a little scary :)

Update, update

Phew, y'all, it's been awhile.

What's happening right now?  Well, all but a few of us at RnR have the holiday + Friday off.  Our Clarksville storefront is open for the local shopping, and Tonya is there because, well, the world truly might stop functioning properly if she wasn't overseeing it--She's fabulous :)

Mom and Steve are still in China, but I do hear from Mom everyday.  They're visiting most of our suppliers' factories over there this trip, as we want to see the factories we're supporting in person.  Though we recognize that our expectations are different than those of other countries, how folks are treated is really important to us, and we need to feel comfortable with whomever we do business with.

As for me, I've been packing (a lot!) and learning about pictures with New Guy Greg, who has tons of photography experience.  Soon you'll see what we've come up with!

I hope everybody's well!  I'm in Memphis for a holiday get together with friends that we're calling BYOT (Bring Your Own Thanksgiving).  Everybody's bringing their leftovers, and we're feasting together.  Ever the hostess, I'm trying to come up with thematic games--First, all I've got is making the little hand turkey's and everybody writing what we're grateful for.  I love this stuff ;)

Mom and Steve are somewhere over the Pacific right now, if I'm not mistaken!  I hope they're actually able to sleep on the flight over...  As for the stateside bunch of us, we're busy gearing up for the holiday season here in the Clarksville storefront and getting your packages to you!  Greg and I are experimenting with new photography techniques too, so that's fun.

Teeeechnical difficulties this morning with marketworks have meant a delay in the email going out, which is frustrating.  Gr...

I'm going to send out a really awesome sale today, perhaps something to do with closeouts?  Relatedly, Mom and Steve are leaving today for China!  This means both craziness in the office and home, and also that we need to clear out this warehouse in preparation for new loveliness to come.  Please keep those two and their travels in your minds and prayers!  I know they're both really excited and also a bit nervous for the big adventure.

Movies, Movies...

We ended up seeing The Kingdom this weekend on a whim because it had the best starting time, and we just couldn't stop talking about it afterward.  Has anybody else seen it?  I think that intro sequence alone is worth seeing it.  I'm usually not a big fan of action-y movies, as suspense and violence just makes me unhappy usually, but I thought this was just a really good movie.  Anyway, if you're looking to spend a few hours in a theater but aren't sure what to see, I recommend The Kingdom highly!   I also saw Into the Wild last week, which was just... mind-numbing, in that way that I can't decide if I liked it or not.  It's a true story, and I'd be really curious to hear what other people thought of that one.  I will say it had an amazing soundtrack.

I've got a lot of travel ahead this next week, which I'm both excited and already tired thinking about. 

Stainless Steel Pendants Blog Sale

My friend Matt from high school is visiting this weekend!  I'm trying to figure out what to show him in the great big city of Clarksville, but it's somewhat of a struggle  :)  So far, we're discussing going to a movie?  Very exciting.
